Introduction
The attorneys at Lucas Macyszyn & Dyer, Injury Lawyers are pleased to announce The Effects of Injury Scholarship, established to honor people whose lives have been altered by preventable accidents. Every day we witness how such incidents affect more than physical functioning — they also have mental, emotional, social, and practical consequences. We are continually moved by the perseverance and determination survivors and their families display as they rebuild their lives.
Purpose and essay prompt
This award recognizes resilience after avoidable injury and offers a space to tell your story. Applicants should submit a brief essay describing how a preventable accident affected you or an immediate family member. In your response, address the impacts on everyday life — physical, mental, emotional, and social — and explain the ways you or your loved one found strength, recovery, or a renewed sense of purpose.
Eligibility
- Open to lawful residents of the United States (any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia) who are current high school seniors, students at vocational or trade schools, undergraduate students at two- or four-year accredited institutions, or graduate students, and who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary or vocational program.
- Employees of Lucas Macyszyn & Dyer, Injury Lawyers, their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouses), and anyone living in the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and remain in good academic standing.
