The Scholar designation is determined by academic performance and potential for leadership, taking into account school and community involvement, interviews, essays, drive, personal character, integrity, service to golf, and various endorsements.
The Scholarship is based on financial need and can be renewed for a maximum of four years. The Fund operates as an equal opportunity scholarship program, refraining from discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or ethnic background.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship
- Every applicant for the Ouimet Scholarship must have dedicated at least two years of service to golf at any Massachusetts golf course.
- Applicants must also intend to enroll full-time at an accredited undergraduate higher education institution. This includes those who plan to attend Junior or Community Colleges and those aiming to earn bachelor’s or associate degrees.
- Applications are accepted from high school seniors as well as those already pursuing their college education.
