Dr. Frank Jenkins Scholarship

Introduction
The Dr. Frank G. Jenkins Scholarship invites applications from college-bound high school seniors residing in the Northern Virginia area. Named for Dr. Jenkins — a retired school administrator with more than 30 years of leadership across several school districts — the award recognizes students who have demonstrated notable leadership during their high school years.
Award
The Northern Virginia Kappa Achievement Foundation, Inc. (NVKAF) will grant a $1,000 scholarship in Dr. Jenkins’s name.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Applicant must be a high school senior from the Northern Virginia area who plans to enroll in college.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Acceptance to, and intent to attend, an accredited four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year.
- Submission of a current high school transcript.
- A 350-word essay responding to one of three provided prompts.
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals such as community members, school officials, or a personal friend/relative.
- Finalists must participate in an interview with the NVKAF Scholarship Selection Committee.
Selection process
All applications will be reviewed by the NVKAF Scholarship Selection Committee, which will identify the top candidates. Final award decisions will be subject to approval by the NVKAF Board of Directors.
