The Mildred Metz Scholarship is a financial award of $2,000, given to a pre-licensure student, either ADN or BSN, who is currently studying at an accredited Kentucky-based School of Nursing. Please note that pre-nursing students are not eligible to apply. It is also a requirement that applicants are student members of the KNA. This scholarship is a tribute to Mildred Metz, who served as the director of the Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing for many years.
The Nursing Excellence Scholarship is another $2,000 financial award, available to pre-licensure students, either ADN or BSN, who are enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing in Kentucky. Pre-nursing students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must also be student members of the KNA. This scholarship is dedicated to all the nurses in Kentucky.
The Rural Nursing Scholarship is a financial award given to a pre-licensure student, either ADN or BSN, or a licensed nurse who is furthering their education at an accredited School of Nursing in Kentucky. Pre-nursing students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must also be student members or members of the KNA. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to pre-licensure nursing students and licensed nurses who are furthering their education and are or will be practicing in rural areas of the Commonwealth. The amount of this scholarship ranges from $1,500 to $10,000, depending on the funds raised through donations and other fundraising efforts of the KNF.
