Wisconsin Mayflower Society — Scholarship Information and Requirements
Overview
The Wisconsin Mayflower Society offers scholarships for students enrolling in higher education in fall 2026. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and either a high school senior who lives in the State of Wisconsin or a junior/regular member of the Wisconsin Society who resides outside Wisconsin. Eligible candidates should plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school beginning in fall 2026.
2026 Awards
Three scholarships will be awarded for 2026:

- $1,620
- $1,000
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s college or university account and mailed to the institution in the fall semester.

Required Application Materials
All of the following items must be submitted together. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
1. Completed application form plus a resume that documents: extracurricular activities (school and community), work experience, honors/awards, and leadership roles held during high school.
2. An original essay of 600–750 words addressing this prompt: America will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026. Explain how the Mayflower Compact influenced the development and success of the United States. Support your statements with documented sources. Essays are judged on content, organization, style, and grammar. All essays must be typed.
3. Bibliographic documentation: your essay must include properly formatted citations in a recognized style (for example, APA) and a bibliography listing the sources you used. Citation entries should appear at the end of your essay.
4. One letter of recommendation from a non-relative (such as a teacher, guidance counselor, clergy member, or scout leader).
5. A copy of your official high school transcript.
6. A copy or printout of official SAT and/or ACT scores.
Deadline and Submission
Complete applications and all required attachments must be received by March 31, 2026. Applications submitted after this date or those missing required materials will be disqualified.

Selection Process
A three-member Mayflower Scholarship Committee will review applications and select the 2026 award recipients. All chosen scholars will receive written notification by June 1, 2026.
Award Disbursement
Once the Society receives confirmation that a recipient has enrolled at an accredited college, university, or vocational institution, scholarship payment will be sent to the student’s tuition/account office at that institution.
