In the spring of 2025, high school seniors who are granted the scholarship will be entitled to a total of $24,000. This sum will be allocated over eight semesters, with each semester's award amounting to $3,000. To maintain eligibility, recipients must adhere to the following criteria: maintain a minimum GPA of 2.85 in their freshman year and 3.0 in the following years, continue to specialize in a sanctioned field of mathematics or science, and ensure that 35-50% of their total semester credits are in math and science.
Qualification Criteria
For scholarship consideration, candidates must fulfill the following prerequisites:
- be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder) graduating from a high school in one of these Minnesota counties: Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, and St Louis.
- achieve a composite score of 24 or above, including sub scores in Math, Science, Reading & English on the American College Test (ACT). SAT scores will not be considered.
- be enrolled in a 4-year degree program, including those who start at a community college.
- possess a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above at the end of the fall semester.
- commit to majoring in one of the specified fields of study.
- demonstrate qualities of character, determination, and ambition.
- hold a high academic standing among their peers.
- come from a family with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of less than $175,000.
- provide a letter of recommendation from a Math or Science teacher.
