Roller Skating Foundation Scholarships

Intro
The Roller Skating Foundation is offering scholarship support to qualifying roller skating athletes and students entering college or trade school. A total of $13,000 in awards will be distributed to six recipients. These funds may be used for athletic-related costs or for tuition and other educational expenses.
Who may apply
- High school seniors or individuals who graduated no more than one year prior to applying.
- Applicants must be verifiable as a family member of, an employee of, or a family member of an employee of a current, card-carrying RSA member rink (including RSM member affiliates).
Award amounts
- Awards include a $5,000 first-place academic scholarship, a $3,000 second-place academic scholarship, and a $2,000 third-place academic scholarship. (These are among the six awards that together total $13,000.)
Required qualifications
- Minimum unweighted GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Submission of ACT or SAT scores (when applicable); test results will be considered in the selection process.
- Demonstrated accomplishment and commitment in one or more areas such as academics, employment, volunteer service, athletics, community or civic involvement, and faith-based activities.
Application materials (all items are required)
- Completed scholarship application form, submitted in full and on time.
- High school transcripts (complete).
- ACT/SAT scores, if applicable.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation: one from an RSA member; one from a current or former guidance counselor; and one from a current or former teacher.
- A 500–700 word personal essay describing how roller skating has shaped your life, outlining your future goals, and explaining how this scholarship would help you reach those goals.
Important instructions & deadlines
- Applications must be for the fall semester at an accredited college, university, or trade school, and must be submitted in the year you intend to begin attendance.
- All application materials must be received by the Roller Skating Foundation by March 31, 2026. Incomplete submissions (missing letters, transcripts, scores, essay, or application) may lead to disqualification.
- Award recipients will be announced on or before May 1, 2026. Winners will be posted at www.rollerskating.com/scholarships.
